User Research

Stop guessing what users want — interviews, tests and evidence-backed reports that point at what to fix first.

What this service entails

Evidence before pixels

Every failed redesign shares one trait: it was designed for the team, not the user. Research flips that. I talk to your actual customers, watch them use your product, and translate what I learn into a ranked list of fixes and opportunities.

Engagements fit your timeline — from a one-week usability sprint on a prototype to ongoing interview programs that feed every roadmap decision with fresh quotes and clips.

What's included

Methods matched to your question

  • Stakeholder kickoff — align on the decisions this research must inform, so findings land where they change things.
  • User interviews & surveys — moderated sessions and sharp questionnaires with recruited, relevant participants.
  • Usability testing — task-based tests on your site, app or prototype with severity-ranked findings.
  • Personas & journey maps — shared pictures of who you serve and where their experience breaks.
  • Action report & readout — a plain-language report plus a live session where your team can ask anything.

FAQs

Questions about user research

How many users do you need to test with?

Five to eight participants uncover the large majority of usability issues in a given flow. I recruit for relevance over volume — the right five people beat fifty random ones.

We have no users yet. Can you still help?

Yes. Prototype testing with target-audience stand-ins catches structural problems before engineering spends a dollar, which is the cheapest possible time to learn.

What do we actually receive?

A ranked findings report, session clips, personas or journey maps where useful, and a live readout with your team — everything written to be acted on, not filed away.
